Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat, was founded by Sultan Ahmed Shah in the year 1411.

with 52 shrines, Kankariya Lake, Bhadra Fort, Teen Darwaza and Calico Museum

Cuisine culture: Ahmedabad serves its tourists gastronomical needs in the most sumptuous
way. The traditional Gujurati thali which contains rice, bread, roti and 'Shaak' with lots of other
dishes along with typical Gujarati sweets is highly recommended. There are many other famous
Gujurati dishes which are a food lover’s delight, such as dal-dhokli, chevdoh, Dhokla, undhiyu,
Khaman, bhusu, fafda, dhokli, papdi, and Sev mamra.

Things to shop: Ahmedabad is well known for its traditional hand embroidered and bandhni(tie
n die) fabrics. Make sure to bargain before buying anything in the main market area located at
Teen Darwaja, Dhalgarwad, Ratan Pole and Manek Chowk.

How to reach: Ahmedabad is well connected with rest of India by road, rail and plane.

By Plane: Ahmed abad has daily flights to most of the cities in India. There are some
international flights to Lo ndon, New York, San Francis co, Chi cago, Kua la Lumpur, Mus cat,
Kuw ait, Dub ai, Do ha, Sha rjah, Qa tar and Singa pore.

By Train: the major railway station in Ahmedabad is the Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station
– well connected by super fast trains. Other rail stations are Maninagar Railway Station,
Sabarmati Junction Railway Station and Vatva Railway Station.

By Bus: The Ahmedabad Bus Station is situated in the center of the city. The roads in Gujarat
are well maintained. Buses are available to Vadodara, Mount Abu, Udaipur and Jaipur.
