Mushroom Momos
Momos are the most simple recipes with least calories and can be relished at any time of the day. Here I tried to make the recipe simpler and tastier.
For the Stuffing
1. Fresh mushrooms(chopped into small pieces)- 2 cups
2. Finely chopped onions- 1 table spoon
3. Finely chopped garlics- 1 table spoon
4. Finley chopped green chillies - 1 tea spoon
5. Vinegar - 2 tea spoon
6. Salt as per taste
7. Oil 2 tea spoon
8. 8-10 pepper corns freshly crushed
10. Spring onions - 1 table spoon(optional)
For the Momo
1. All purpose flour (Maida) - 1 cup
2. Oil - 2 tea spoon
3. Salt - as per taste
4. Water as required
Preparation - Make a stiff dough of maida, water, oil and salt and keep it aside
To prepare the stuffing, in a frying pan heat 2 tea spoon of oil and then add the garlic, onions and chillies one by one. Once the onions turn translucent, add the spring onions and mushrooms and turn the flame high. Once the mushrooms leave the extra water, add the vinegar, salt and the crushed peppers. Cook it for few minutes and keep it aside.
Make a big paper thin roti from the stiff maida dough and use a medium sized bowl to cut them in round shape. Take one such roti, add a spoon full of the mushroom stuffing. Gather all the sides of the roti with wet hand and join them together while giving it a little twist to get that perfect shape.
Add the prepared momos in a steamer and let them cook in steam for about 15-20 minute.
Serve hot with red chilly and garlic chutney.
